Thanks for the recipes. I love your dry shampoo! Especially with cocoa powder for my dark hair. A few questions. Would you use this in place of or in addition to your beach waves spray? I was a little confused by the notes in each. If you just us this, could you add aloe to it like for the beach waves spray? And do you think bourbon or whiskey could work for the alcohol?

I understand the reason for adding the spiced rum. Does it have to rum? Or can we use something else we might have? Would it have the same effect?

I have tried several recipes similar to this, and they generally work well in my fine, lifeless hair. My problem seems to be the spraying mechanism. I’ve tried the little glass bottles with pump sprayers found in health food stores, cheapies from Walgreens, trigger sprayers for chemicals (from the hardware store). They all fail to work after about 3 uses. I’ve tried running them under hot water, tried boiling too, to no avail. Frustrating! I do not use sugar in my sprays. Are the essential oils or salts eating the sprayer mechanisms? I’d be really grateful if anyone had a suggestion of a long-lasting sprayer for/with a small bottle.

Love love LOVE this recipe! Thank you thank you. I too have very fine hair that generally refuses to hold any shape, and I’m allergic to hairsprays, so this has been a lifesaver. I carry a small mister bottle in my purse and I can reapply later in the day if I need a quick fix. No stiff, sticky hair like storebought sprays. You can even run a comb through this without ruining the gentle hold. I have also been surprised more than once to wake up in the morning and find that my hair still looks almost as good as it did the day before. That NEVER happens with my hair. Add very inexpensive and easy to make, and we have a winner!

Hello! Do you think a more compact spray bottle would work? Like the kind you just press down and not the trigger kind? I’m just trying to figure out what to do with travel since all the bottles i can find with the trigger handle are much bigger than 3 hrs. Maybe definitely need the conditioner in it?
