Dr. Christopher (The School of Natural Healing) also agrees. He says that heating the pepper to much changes the chemical structure and it should be added just before consuming.

Most people (an estimated 70-90% of the US) own a blender but if you don’t happen to have one then you can adjust the recipe accordingly. A blender just greatly speeds up the process and better combines the ingredients. Have you tried the recipe?

umm, the assumption that “everyone” owns a blender is a bit off-putting. And stirring the mixture in a stainless steel pot should work just fine.

This is the 2nd Golden Milk recipe I’ve tried. It’s very good & easier than the 1st.
I’ll be making this again! The cayenne pepper gives it
a nice flavor. Hoping it will help with my inflammation!

Likely not, but it may make the drink too spicy if it cooks in with it.

I’ve used it dozens of times over the years but I’m curious–why must we add the black pepper at the end and not with everything all at once? Is there anything wrong with adding the pepper at the beginning? Thanks again 🙂

Delicious!!! I used mostly coconut milk with a little water – and followed to a T. Didn’t use any optional sweetener as it didn’t need it. Thanks so much!

Dear Katie,
Thank you!! Delicious!!
I cut the recipe in half to see if I like it. My blender is old, so I just used a 2 cup glass measuring cup, added the spices & whisked it. Put it in the microwave & whisked it a couple of times throughout … till it got hot. Probably not mixed as well as with a blender , but still turned out great!
BONUS …. it doesn’t stain glass, whisk or mug ?
Kathy

That’s the only reason I’ve been scared to drink this. Not sure if it stains teeth like countertops?

I’ve recently been enjoying golden milk before bed. Ive been making it with raw cow’s or goat’s milk, but today I used homemade coconut milk because we are low on dairy. It was still good but not as creamy. The first few times I tried it (years ago) I used canned coconut milk and it was SO rich it made me nauseous. Glad I finally figured out how to enjoy it! I’m hoping that drinking this every day will reduce inflammation in my body and lower my CRP!

So, what I do is put the pepper into my cup of somewhat-heated golden milk (made from paste). That way, it receives a bit of heating but not enough to make it unhealthy. Thank you.

I only add pepper and turmeric though. I will try your combination. Looks really good.
