Some markets are better than others; happily ours is operated through a health food store whose manager polices vendors for truly organic/grassfed, etc. You can search for one near you through local harvest.org.

I recently read that it’s best to buy canned fish/sardines, etc., packed in water rather than olive oil because so many “olive oils” are processed with other oils and still called olive oil. That, and the likelihood that the oils could be rancid. That was just one source, but it makes sense to me.

I’m able to get grassfed meats at (or through) a local farmer’s market – and it is always frozen for safety. I can’t think there’s a significant difference, as I’m guessing grocery stores selling pastured meats receive their stock frozen. What I can’t get locally, I order from one of several reputable sellers online. Again, it arrives frozen.

On average, meat and fish is about 6-7 grams of protein per ounce so 5-7 ounces of meat or seafood is 40 grams of protein. Other options: one large tuna packet, two cans of sardines, 6 eggs, 1.3 cups cottage cheese, or 40 grams worth of grassfed protein powder.

Thanks for your kind words. I continue to research every day, and while I think that most people probably consume too much meat, the science is still very clear that it is in fact healthy and it’s not possible to get the same benefits from plants alone. Humans have been consuming animals since the dawn of time, and new documentaries won’t change that fact…

I’ve been following you for many years now….and love how much research and thought goes into everything you do. Our parents all provide us with the best they can with the current knowledge they have for that moment in time. One of the reasons I followed you is because you have been one of the few health advocates that still believes meat ? is good for the human body. I personally have known meat isn’t right for my body for many years but I’ve wanted to do the best for my children so I’ve fed a good source of meat for their now 17 & 15 years. My son came to me the other day and said mom have you seen this documentary “The Game Changer”? If you haven’t seen it you probably should. Its ok to change ones mind especially as we learn more scientifically and technologically every day. My whole family will never eat an animal again! Please do the research again and let us know what you think ? Thank You

If we do not change our ignorance and selfishness, we are going to be with no home and no future. Get ur proteins from other sources as are plenty, after a certain age we only need to eat a good meal a day and the rest is down to eating vegetables, soaked nuts and fruits.
